The flag of the Sovereign Military Order of the Temple of Jerusalem 1804 is mainly two.
The first, State, which represents the Order is the red Templar Cross (or Cross of the 8 Beatitudes) on a black and white field.
The Second (photo above), of Peace , is the Templar Cross on a white field. This flag is mainly used during Eucharistic Celebrations or during the Chapters of Elevation to Knighthood and Acceptance into the Temple
The Templar Cross , vermilion red, was applied to the cloak only after a few years by the Council of Troyes which formalized the Templar Rule and Order written by Saint Bernard of Clairvaux.
The red is symbolically the blood that Christ shed to purify us from sin, while the 8 points found at the ends represent the 8 beatitudes of the Gospel according to Matthew (5.3-12):
Blessed are the poor in spirit, for theirs is the kingdom of heaven.
Blessed are those who mourn, for they will be comforted.
Blessed are the meek, for they will inherit the Earth.
Blessed are those who hunger and thirst for justice, for they will be satisfied.
Blessed are the merciful, for they will be shown mercy.
Blessed are the pure in heart, for they will see God.
Blessed are the peacemakers, for they will be called children of God.
Blessed are those persecuted for righteousness’ sake, for theirs is the kingdom of heaven.
Blessed are you when they insult you, persecute you and falsely say all kinds of evil against you because of me.
Rejoice and rejoice, for great is your reward in heaven.
